Fees will vary according to the time and treatment necessary.

For more information on practice fees please ask our reception staff.

Patients are required to settle their account at the time of consultation.  Eligible concession card holders and children under 16 years of age will be bulk billed for consultations.  Please check with reception staff to confirm your eligibility.

The staff will assist by sending your claim to Medicare if required.  Medicare will deposit the refund directly into your bank account if you have registered your bank details with them.

For advice on out-of-pocket costs when seeing your GP or being referred to a specialist, please speak to our reception staff.

To minimise delay consultations are by appointment.  If you think your visit may be lengthy please advise staff so they can set aside additional time.  Consultations such as full medical examinations, minor surgical procedures, complicated problems, breast checks, pap smears and multiple problems, all require extra time.  Making such appointments midweek would also prevent waiting problems.  Appointments may also be made online from the website or by registering and downloading the Appointuit app.

Home visits will be made according to urgency.  Please make your request early in the day as they can greatly interfere with planning for the majority of patients.  Emergencies will be attended to immediately either by doctor or ambulance.

Training

Busselton Medical Practice is committed to the training of our doctors and General Practitioners of the future. We provide supervised practice placements for medical students through the Rural Clinical School based here in Busselton. These student doctors sit in with our experienced GPs and provide clinical services as appropriate to their level of training. We are grateful for the consent of our patients to allow them to be involved in their consultation with their chosen GP. However, there is no obligation to have a medical student at your consultation so when informed of their presence by our reception staff, feel free to decline their involvement in your visit.

In addition to these trainees, we also provide supervised attachments of 6-12 months duration for registered medical practitioners training in the specialty of General Practice. In exchange for providing them with guidance and experience in General Practice we are in turn provided with enthusiastic doctors who bring new ideas and knowledge to our medical community. In fostering their development as General Practitioners we hope to someday have them return to work with us in a full time capacity.
